The Way to Get Ballpoint Ink Away a Vinyl Couch

Even though a vinyl couch is rather simple to keep clean since you can just wipe it down with a damp cloth, it isn’t completely stain proof. Ballpoint pen ink leaves its mark on plastic just as it does on paper, which means you’ll have to break out extra cleaning equipment to undertake those stains. Opt for the gentlest cleaning procedures possible to prevent possible discoloration, and then analyze the cleaning technique on an inconspicuous area of the couch if you are unsure how the plastic will react.

Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto a cotton ball or a soft white cloth. Using a white cloth, instead of a brightly colored cloth, prevents potential dyes within the cloth from being transferred to the couch. Blot the cotton ball over the stain without rubbing it far beyond the ink to prevent spreading the needle. Expand the cotton ball as the ink starts to move over to the cotton to prevent spreading the needle. Use a fresh cotton ball filled in alcohol, if needed, to eliminate as much of the ink as possible.

Rub a little bit of butter over the ink and permit it to set for 30 minutes or more. The butter helps release the ink in the plastic. Wipe it off with a damp sponge.

Squirt a pea-sized amount of mild dishwashing soap or laundry detergent onto a damp sponge or damp white cloth. Rub the ink stain, following the general direction of the ink mark to prevent creating the stain broader. Examine the fabric or wax once in a while to see whether it is filled with ink; in that case, rotate the bit so the ink doesn’t spread. Keep until just as much of the material as possible has been removed, then wipe clean with a damp cloth or sponge.

Squirt a non-gel toothpaste onto the ink stain. Scrub the ink with a toothbrush, using care to limit your scrubbing to a little region to prevent spreading the needle. Wipe the toothpaste away with a damp sponge.
