How to Choose the Perfect Bar Stool

How to Choose the Perfect Bar Stool

I’ve been specifying a great deal of bar stools for projects recently, and I feel as I’m running out of choices! There are many challenges in finding the most suitable one for the ideal clients. For some people, comfort is king; for others, it is all about looks. Some people today need to swivel while others wish to stay stationary. There’s also the issue of depth; I’ve had the unfortunate experience of unearthing the perfect bar stool, only to find out the overhang in the pub is atypically shallow, and there won’t be enough room. And regardless of what the style is, remaining conscious of scale is obviously significant, not only with regard to the distance they sit in, but also in context with other furnishings.

This is a beautifully appointed kitchen. The scale is just right, and though the wood chairs are similar in coloration to the brown cabinets and light fixture, the movement in the wood and the blackened steel foundations give them distinction, making them stand apart.

Smart and Sleek Stool – Short – $129

One of the most universal designs, this style of pub stool manages to be both industrial and light with a healthy dose of softness in the wood seat. This one falls on the lower end of the huge pricing spectrum, and I’ll let you know, it is tough to discover barstools which are both affordable AND handsome.

Form Bar Stool

This barstool, although like the one above, has a little sign of a back, also are available in the higher price range. Should you treat the counter as more of a landing pad for quick snacks and conversing while cooking, having a full back isn’t quite as significant. A very low back is nice, however.

Cherner seats and stools will never go out of style.

Obviously, there’s always the option to maintain them ultra-fresh by dipping them in paint, white or any other colour, for that matter!

If you want your barstools to be conversation-starters up shut, but kind of vanish from a space, acrylic is the thing to do.

Amoroso Design

If space is limited, or you’re particularly into a non-cluttered appearance, consider simple, unembellished stools which stow under the bar .

Tolix Bar Stool

One of a great deal of powerful, thick forests, metal bar stools breathe a little fresh air into spaces by introducing a contrasting material and feel.

I love the French industrial appearance, as seen here.

Kong Side Stool by Philippe Starck – $1,710

Not ready to adopt the industrial appearance fully? Try Phillippe Starck’s riff on the Emeco seat with a pinch of high-polish tradition.

Another French-y industrial option that states”drawing feces” more than”pub stool” I love the play of materials and components within this kitchen/wine room. The industrial seats are a whimsical inclusion, helping the room feel anything but average.

Cliff Young, Ltd Classic Collection Barstool

Many people today spend a great deal of time on their bar stools, making it important to be comfortable and supported with a considerable back. This is a gorgeous option.

Wishbone Chair – $219

If you want a tote, but prefer to retain a little openness, consider a bar stool with an open splat, as seen in this riff on a Wegner classic (to get a song!) That takes up minimal visual distance.

Vision Homes & Remodeling

We have looked at a great deal of wood, metal and organic possibilities, but don’t be afraid to add a little pizzazz into your kitchen or bar area with the addition of colour.

Calligaris Icon Counter Stool – $327

The open back makes this option light, but the upholstery will make you (and your guests) need to stick around for a short time. Do not be afraid of a little colour.

Usona Home.Barstool

I particularly like modern woven bar stools. With a high rear, the open weave retains an airy atmosphere and does not block views or light. Usona’s high-end option can not be overcome…

Reed Barstools – $159

… Unless your budget falls more in the CB2 range, in which case, you’re in luck. This is a really similar option that is easily available to people not in”the transaction.”

Palecek China Bay Bar Stool – $1,139.77

Here is a choice that combines solid wood with a woven part, leading to a stool that is both sturdy and elegant.

This chic little thing unites colour and patten employing the materials.

This design was discontinued, however, the idea lives on.

Sturdy backs often arrive in the form of thicker pub stools, which work beautifully within this kitchen.

Patricia B. Warren, AIA Warren Architecture, LLC

We have not even touched height choices! There’s pub height, whereby the seat is usually 29″-31″ high, whilst counter height puts chairs between 24″ and 26″. Fundamentally, counter-height stools will be perfect for pubs exactly the exact same height as your own kitchen counters (35″-37″). If your pub area is taller, state 41″-43″, then you need a pub stool. Whew!

This picture illustrates the difference in height; the pub stool sits under a greater countertop, while the portion of the counter used for prepping and cleaning is somewhat lower.

Eleven Interiors

Something else to consider while choosing the proper bar or counter stools is what other pieces of furniture with legs is within eye-shot. Chairs, tables, stools, sofas — it is important to not let all those legs overwhelm your area.
