Toro 51599 Inspection
The Toro 51599 Ultra Blower Vac is an impressively powered corded electric leaf blower/vacuum in the very top end of Toro’s electric blower product lineup. It provides almost twice the energy of the 51585 Power Sweep, and its adjustable power output is much more elastic than that of the 51592 Super Blower Vac. As 2014, the 51599 version was discontinued and replaced with the 51598 version that was similar of.
Motor
The 51599 Ultra Blower Vac is powered by a 12-amp electric motor that is capable of producing a maximum air velocity in the blower nozzle of 235 miles per hourthat rating makes the blower Toro’s most powerful electric blower vac. The blower includes variable rate adjustment with a rate limit of 112 miles per hour. The blower generates 63 decibels of noise at reduced rate and 67 decibels at high speed, which can be comparable to the volume of normal conversation and considerably quieter than a typical gas-powered leaf blower. The Ultra Blower Vac weighs in at 7.5 lbs, making it the heaviest of Toro’s electric blowers.
Accessories
The Ultra Blower Vac includes a blower tube, vacuum tube, and debris collection bag. The attachments contain quick-release latches, so which you are able to convert the unit from blower to vacuum mode readily and without the use of tools.
Vacuum Mode
The larger aperture of the vacuum tube in contrast to the blower tube not only enables debris and leaves to enter the tube more readily, in addition, it increases the volume of air drawn through the blower, which helps the system to pick up leaves more readily. Though the Ultra Blower Vac moves 255 cubic feet of air each second in blower mode, it sucks in 390 cubic feet per second in vacuum mode.
Shredder
The Ultra Blower Vac is equipped with a magnesium impeller with serrated blades which shreds debris and leaves as they are pulled through the blower in vacuum mode. The shredder reduces the volume of leaves drawn through by a ratio of 16:1, which is by far the reduction ratio of any of Toro’s electric blowers.
Newer Model
The 51599 blower version was replaced in the end of the Toro leaf blower product lineup by the 51598 Ultra Blower Vac. Besides some minor alterations, the 51598 is largely indistinguishable to the 51599. The maximum nozzle velocity of the 51598 was downgraded from 235 to 225 miles per hour, and the 51598 is slightly louder than the old version, producing 69 decibels at high speed in contrast to the 51599’s 67 decibels. At 7.3 lbs, the 51598 also is a bit lighter than the 51599.
